CEREC

CEREC® is a new state-of-the-art method of reconstructing tooth restorations. CEREC® uses computer-assisted design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) to offer single-day restorations for patients. The restorations created are metal-free and tooth-colored to restore your tooth to its natural beauty, strength, and function.

How a CEREC® Dental Restoration Procedure Works

1 .Exam And Preparation

Before you get started, your dentist will determine if CEREC® is right for you. Depending on how much healthy tooth structure you have remaining, it may be a simple filling or you may need a crown. After reviewing your options, the dentist will administer an anesthetic and prepare your tooth for restoration.

2 .Optical Impression

In order to make the desired restoration, a 3-dimensional image of the tooth that needs to be restored must be created from a digital camera scan of the tooth.

3 .Milling Unit

This device is used to create the custom restoration needed for the tooth. Based on the original color of your tooth, the dentist is able to select the correct colored ceramic block in a few minutes.

4. Placing The Restoration

After the restoration is made, it is ready to be tried on to ensure that you get proper fit and bite. When it is ready, the restoration is polished and bonded into place by your dentist.

FAQS

CEREC is a dental system that creates crowns in just one visit. A special camera scans your tooth, and a machine creates your crown on site, meaning no temporary crowns, no second visit.
CEREC is ideal for anyone needing a dental crown and who wants it done in one day. If your tooth is cracked, worn out, or has a large cavity, our dentist may tell you about CEREC for a quick, strong fix.
The CEREC procedure usually takes around 1 to 2 hours. Our dentist prepares the tooth, takes a digital scan, and then makes and places the crown during the same visit. No need to come back again.
Most people feel fine after a CEREC crown. Your tooth may feel a little sore or sensitive for a day or two. You can eat and drink normally once the numbness goes away and follow our dentist’s advice.
CEREC is safe, but like any dental treatment, there can be small risks. You might feel slight soreness or sensitivity. If the crown feels too high or odd, our dentist can adjust it to make it comfortable.
After a CEREC crown, brush and floss like usual. Avoid intake of very sticky or hard foods for a few days. Visit our dentist for checkups, and let them know if the crown feels uncomfortable or comes loose later.
